Schoolgirl killed herself

Romanian schoolgirl killed herself after bullying

A 13-year-old Romanian girl from Linz-Ebelsberg committed suicide at home after she was apparently a mobbing victim at school.

When the girl came home from school on Monday, she went directly upstairs to her room on the first floor of the house. After having sent a text message saying goodbye to a friend she hung herself in the staircase of the house.

Her mother found her a little later and had a break-down. She was taken into hospital where she is now receiving psychological treatment.

The family from Romania has been facing hostility in the school for a while according to Austrian media. The 13-year-old was apparently bullied by her schoolmates because she was suffering from a skin disease.

The girl had repeatedly threatened to kill herself which left her mother worried. She discussed the matter with the headmaster and the psychologist of the school with no outcome.

In April the girl would have been 14 years old.
