Body of missing Dane found

Rescuers found the body of a Danish youth Saturday who had gone missing the previous day in Bad Gastein in Salzburg’s Pongau district, police said today (Mon).

The body of the 17-year-old from Saeby, Denmark, was found lying by a railway track 200 metres south of the town’s railway station by search teams.

A doctor said the youth had died from polytrauma, probably as the result of having been hit by a train. Police excluded foul play.

A crisis intervention team counselled the boy’s parents and friends.
