Biker's 120km/h crash video

A gruesome video of a motorcyclist hitting a car at 120km/h has been released by police to shock bikers into slowing down.

The bike - doing more than twice the speed limit in the 50km/h zone in Hamburg, Germany - ploughs into the side of a turning car sending its rider flying through the air.

The biker somersaults and slides more than 15 metres down the road before lying motionless in the road.

Astonishingly the rider survived but suffered serious injuries.

Hamburg police released the film from CCTV recordings to publicise the release of traffic accident statistics showing 4,500 people were killed on German roads last year.
