'The Hoff' lined up for Film Ball red carpet

"Baywatch" star David Hasselhoff is being lined up as the star guest at the first Vienna Film Ball, organisers have revealed.

The "Wiener Filmball" team announced today (Weds) "The Hoff" had been invited to the ball at the Vienna City Hall on 26 March.

They added that as well as Hasselhoff, Priscilla Presley had also been approached about attending the event.

Austrian actor Maximilian Schell is to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the ball, which will be hosted by G�ssinger Kultursommer head Frank Hoffmann.

Other highlights of the ball season are the 60th Viennese Doctors Ball (30 January), the traditional Ball of the Viennese Caf� Managers (Ball der Wiener Kaffeesieder) on 5 February and the State Opera Ball (11 February).
