Underwater shark radio at Haus des Meeres

By Thomas Hochwarter

Visitors to Vienna’s Haus des Meeres are being given a chance to find out more about sharks in an exciting way.

Bosses at the aquarium, located in Vienna-Mariahilf, announced today (Tues) visitors can chat with the venue’s divers while they swim with the sharks.

The carers reveal interesting facts about the fascinating animals but also answer all questions immediately while doing their work in the aquarium with the help of a radio system that connects them to the visiting area.

Divers will get in touch with visitors between 30 August and 4 September at noon and from then on at 6pm every Thursday.

Another special attraction at the aquarium, which is located in a WWII flack tower, are programmes in which kids can stroke snakes and feed Koi carps.

Go to www.haus-des-meeres.at for ticket prices and opening times.
