Innauer to leave ÖSV

Toni Innauer will step down as head of the director of the Austrian Skiing Federation’s (ÖSV) Nordic disciplines by the end of this season.

The 51-year-old former ski jumper from Vorarlberg, who held various posts at the ÖSV over the past 22 years, said yesterday (Weds) he was happy to step down "at a time of successes".

Innauer referred to the good season the Austrian ski jumping, Nordic combined and biathlon teams were having.

Ernst Vettori, 1992 Olympic ski jumping gold medallist and Innauer’s deputy, will succeed the 1980 Olympic Games champion.

Innauer has successfully organised motivation seminars and will soon present his new book "Am Puls des Erfolgs".

"I will take a time out of around one year and not take on any position in professional winter sports during that time," Innauer said in Innsbruck yesterday.
