The Austrian actor Christoph Waltz was awarded an Oscar for best supporting actor for his performance in "Django Unchained". Mr Waltz, who appeared to be very touched, thanked his fellow actors and the director Quentin Tarantino.
Mr Waltz praised Mr Tarantino for being able to "tame the dragon" because he "was not afraid to do so".
The actor had been more relaxed earlier on, when walking on the red carpet: "It is different as it is the second time and the excitement changes. I know the feeling but this does not mean that it is less exciting", he said.
When he was asked, Mr Waltz appeared unimpressed that he had been invited to the US-show "Saturday Night Live" as the first German-speaking artist: "I just played the presenter. I do that for a living", he said.
Christoph Waltz had won his first Oscar for best supporting actor for his performance in "Inglourious Basterds" in 2010. The film was also directed by Quentin Tarantino.
