Ambivalent balance for Austrian spa resorts

When the semester holidays ended yesterday (Sun), managers of spas in Burgenland (East Austria) drew an ambivalent balance. Whilst hotels were full with guests, the number of one-day-visitors decreased.

Those who visit spas often have to travel far. If there is heavy snow, some people prefer to stay at home.

The situation in the spa hotels seemed completely different: "AVITA" in Bad Tatzmannsdorf was very busy during the holidays. Among the guests many residents from Burgenland were counted.

Another spa resort in Burgenland, "St. Martins Therme & Lodge" in Frauenkirchen, had to struggle with bad weather conditions but the hotel was, again, very busy.

The managers of "Sonnentherme Bad Lutzmannsburg" are only pleased with the first week of the holidays (4-10 February) when people from Vienna and Lower Austria had holidays. Last week, however, the snow stopped many people from visiting the spa.

The managers of "Reiters Resort" in Stegersbach (Burgenland) said that there was an average occupancy during the holidays.
