The 63rd BonbonBall in Vienna

The 63rd BonbonBall in Vienna

By far the sweetest part of the Viennese ball season, will take place one again on 17 February in Austra's capital. For the 63rd time the BonbonBall will come to the Vienna concert house giving Fasching party-goers the chance to dance the night away to the Vienna Ballroom orchestra or even be crowned Miss Bonbon 2012.

Vienna’s most dramatic ballroom will play host to the BonbonBall this February. The traditional opening begins at 9pm when more than 160 debutants take to the floor to wow the crowds with their dancing. With endless performances, parades and of course sweetie goodies, ball goers are kept continually entertained throughout the course of the evening.

The highlight of the ball is of course the crowing of Miss Bonbon at midnight. Since 1952 the sweetest young lady has been given the coveted title. More than 150 girls appear before the jury and are whittled down to just 10 who appear in the main ballroom on the night. The election is sponsored by confectioners MANNER and the weight of the new Miss Bonbon measured in their famous wafers which are later donated to charity.

Music throughout the evening will be provided by both the Vienna Ballroom Orchestra and the Original Bonbon Walzer Orchestra. Amongst other special guests expected to appear on the night is Eddie Cole, the nephew of Nat King Cole. As the night continues Radio Krone Hit Disco and the Cuban band Habana Son Club will take over the reins and keep the party going into the early hours of the morning.

And the treats do not stop there. A visit to the "Styling Corner" is a must for all image conscious partiers and for those with a sweet tooth there will be more than 1,000 sweet surprises as well as 3,750 tombola prizes. No one will go thirsty either with Italian tipple, Aperol Spritz as the official BonbonBall drink.

Doors open at 8pm on 17 February before the event gets started at 9pm.

Regular tickets cost 85 Euros and 44 Euros for students.
