Bruno Bisang, born in 1952, grew up in Ascona. He went to the School of Applied Arts in Zurich, followed by his completion of an apprenticeship.
At age 27, Bisang became a freelance photographer and soon achieved his first breakthroughs in fashion photography.
Today he lives and works in Milan, New York, Zurich and Paris. Bisang has created pictures in which he stages female beauty in perfection, for such world renowned magazines as Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and for clients like Cartier, Hansgrohe, Palmers or Wolford,.
He has captured the most prominent models and stars in both sensual and revealing portraits over the years. To achieve perfection in lighting and perspective, Bisang adopted the use of a Polaroid camera.
He always had the stars sign the instant photos immediately. In time, he gathered a collection of thousands of photographs that he meticulously kept. In May of 2011, teNeues published a book titled “30 years of Polaroids,” combining breathtaking views of Claudia Schiffer or Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, Linda Evangelista, Monica Belluci or Victoria Beckham.
Now, a selection of the most impressive pictures from Bisang’s collection of stars can be seen for the first time in Austria. Atelier Jungwirth will be showing around 40 photographs, some in large format, from February 7th until May 6th of 2012 in Graz.
