Coughing Lipizzaner horses end show

Coughing horses have brought performances at Vienna’s Spanish Riding School careering to a halt.

Twenty of the school’s 72 top tourist attraction Lipizzaner horses developed an acute coughing infection, and with another 10 recovering the school said it was necessary to pull the plug on the performances scheduled for this Sunday and for Saturday and Sunday next weekend.

School bosses said all money spent on tickets would be refunded and added that the horses’ morning training sessions had not been affected.
