Oscar winner Waltz has sex with a phone in TV sketch

Austrian Oscar winner Christoph Waltz simulated having sex with objects for a sketch on American television.

The "Inglourious Basterds" star had his audience in stitches on late night show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" as he described objects like an old-fashioned telephone and a Hawaiian guitar in German – before starting to pretending to have sex with them as part of a bogus BBC documentary on his beginnings as an actor.

"You have to understand that the humping is not a metaphor. […] The humping is humping. Which part don’t you understand?" the 53-year-old said in English during "serious interview situation" type scenes.

The Vienna-born actor said: "I am communicating. The message is important. We are all humping. We need to hump together. The new age of humping is dawning."

Waltz proved by taking part in the sketch that he does not take himself too seriously. The 53-year-old was criticised by some international newspapers for giving "arrogant" and "selfish" statements before and after he picked up an Oscar last Sunday for Best Supporting Actor.

It now seems Waltz has managed to get a foothold in Hollywood.

"The Green Hornet", a movie remake of a legendary American radio and TV show featuring Waltz in a leading role, is set for a December 2010 release.

And Waltz was recently invited to the "Jay Leno Show" as the first Austrian since Arnold Schwarzenegger where he revealed that winning an Oscar felt better than having sex for the first time.
