New-born Cottontop Tamarin twins are the latest attraction at Vienna’s Haus des Meeres (HDM) aqua terra zoo.
Carers who released pictures of the twins today (Weds) said the babies were born a few weeks ago. They added the new-borns loved to be carried around by their parents in "live rucksacks".
The Cottontop Tamarin (Saguinus oedipus) is found in tropical forests, and there are reportedly only about 6,000 still in the wild.
HDM, located in a Nazi era anti-air-raid bunker in Vienna-Mariahilf, is one of Vienna’s top attractions for kids and tourists.
It features thousands of live water animals and a giant rain forest greenhouse that monkeys and birds live in and visitors can enter.
The aqua terra zoo had a record 2009 as far as visitor figures were concerned, as 352,877 people visited the venue.
