Veteran Viennese playboy Richard Lugner has admitted to fears his Opera Ball guest Lindsay Lohan won’t be able to make it through tomorrow’s (Weds) autograph session as the star is due to arrive at the last minute.
"I hope we’ll manage to keep her awake," the 77-year-old said in reference to the autograph session held for fans at his "Lugner City" shopping centre after a press conference.
The entrepreneur said Lohan would land just in time at Vienna International Airport. Lugner revealed the "Herbie: Fully Loaded" star would be accompanied by her personal manager Justine Greystone, a hairdresser and a stylist.
Lugner also said he had heard rumours that the Lesbian actress would bring her ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson with her.
Lohan, 23, has to brace herself for a busy schedule as Lugner plans to take her to his "2010 Opera Ball Pre-Party" at the capital’s Cameo Club.
"House DJs will entertain the crowd there. I hope she’ll endure it," Lugner – who has been married four times – said.
The businessman also revealed he had assigned 12 bodyguards to ensure the Hollywood starlet’s safety.
Lugner said Lohan could relax on Thursday before attending the Opera Ball with him, his 20-year-old girlfriend, his 16-year-old daughter and her boyfriend.
The shopping centre manager – whose "adventures" with Lohan this week are set to be the topic of a special "Die Lugners", an ATV series portraying his obscure daily life – said fans might get a chance to catch a glimpse of the actress at Vienna’s Spanish Riding School (SRS).
"I heard she wants to ride a Lipizzaner. Well, we’ll see," he said, considering that his 2009 Opera Ball guest, "Desperate Housewives" actress Nicollette Sheridan, was not granted that wish by SRS bosses last year.
Lugner recently labelled Lohan "a nutcase" after she told him he had to arrange a private jet to bring her to Vienna.
Airs and graces by the stars he has been inviting to the Opera Ball – regarded as the most important high society get-together in Austria all year – since 1991 are, however, nothing new.
Lugner said Geri Halliwell, who had accompanied him in 2005, was the hardest case. "She was the most difficult. She even refused to do interviews," he said about the former "Spice Girl".
Asked about dealing with "Dynasty" star Joan Collins, who went to the event with him in 1993, he said: "She is a real-life beast - not just on TV!"
Speaking about 1996 star guest Grace Jones, Lugner revealed: "She had sex – before the ball, during the ball and after the ball!"
Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro, meanwhile, reportedly branded the French company of the same name’s cooperation with the actress a "disaster". Ungaro said he was "angry" about the decision to make her the firm’s "creative consultant", adding that he had had no chances to object to any decisions since the company had belonged to an American investment fund since his departure in 2005.
