Veteran Viennese playboy Richard Lugner has branded Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan "a nutcase" after the actress told her Opera Ball host he had to arrange a private jet to bring her to Vienna.
"She refuses to take a scheduled flight and told me I must get a private jet sorted out for her," the shopping centre manager said today (Weds).
He added: "I haven’t got a choice, I suppose, since she’s a nutcase."
The 77-year-old revealed: "I managed to book an eight-seat jet, but she refused to accept my offer. She claimed it would be too uncomfortable and she would not be able to get any sleep when travelling in it."
Lugner has made an international name for himself inviting international celebrities to attend the high society get-together for years. Singer Grace Jones and actress Pamela Anderson are among his previous guests at the ball – set to take place on 11 February this year.
Lugner – who was married four times – admitted he did not know a lot about the "Mean Girls" star’s plans for her stay in the city.
"All I’m aware of is that she plans to visit the Spanish Riding School," he said.
Asked whether the 23-year-old would meet British page three girl Katie Price who is also lined up for the ball, he said: "I doubt that Lindsay wants that."
Irene and Alexander Mayer, the Austrian PR marketing couple who will attend the Opera Ball with Price, meanwhile said the former "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!" contender planned to see some Viennese sites.
"Our programme will depend on the weather, but I think we’ll visit Schönbrunn Palace, the Gloriette, the Prater park, the Ferris Wheel and St. Stephen’s Cathedral," Irene Mayer – who met the 31-year-old at celebrity events such as Elton John’s AIDS charity galas – revealed.
Price has meanwhile been voted "most hated woman in the UK" in a OnePoll survey.
