Organisers of the Salzburg Whitsun Festival (Pfingstfestspiele) have urged those interested to secure tickets.
The event featuring performance of opera and classical solo concerts – taking place between 21 and 24 May this year – took place for the first time in 1973 in a reaction to the overwhelming demand for tickets at the summer-season Salzburg Festival (Salzburger Festspiele) and the city’s Easter Festival (Osterfestspiele).
The Whitsun Festival is focusing on the era of Neapolitan baroque music as well as on early classical works.
See www.salzburgerfestspiele.at for a schedule of performances and ticket information.
