F1 legend Lauda fronts anti drink-drive campaign

Three-time Formula One champion Niki Lauda is spearheading a controversial Austrian anti- drink-drive campaign using graphic images of injured children.

"I want to raise awareness that drink driving isn't a trivial offence but something that endangers your own life and the lives of others," the 60-year-old CEO of discount airline FlyNiki said.

The campaign – initiated by Social Democratic (SPÖ) Traffic Minister Doris Bures – features shocking images such as one of a driver kneeling over a boy he has just run down.

The minister said the campaign would continue despite the public debate the TV spots have caused since many people consider them to be repulsive.
