Nobel Prize winner Herta M�ller to read in Vienna

Nobel Prize-winning author Herta M�ller will read from her new novel "Atemschaukel" (Everything I Possess I Carry With Me) at Vienna�s Burgtheater, it has been announced.

Bosses at the theatre � regarded as one of the most important theatres in German-speaking Europe � said today (Fri) the Romanian-born German author will read from the book, which was published last year, on 3 March (8pm).

Plinio Bachmann and Kurt Neumann will make the opening speech on the evening.

Bestseller "Atemschaukel" � which made the 2009 German Book Prize shortlist � describes the brutality of Romania�s Stalinist regime in and around the end of WWII when Romanian Germans were deported to Gulag camps.

Other highlights of the current Burgtheater season are William Shakespeare�s "Faust", "Warten auf Godot" (Waiting For Godot) by Samuel Beckett and Karl Sch�nherr�s "Der Weibsteufel" performed at the Akademietheater, the institution�s sister theatre.
