Speculation is growing that pop star Lady Gaga will be at next year’s Vienna State Opera Ball.
Rumours began to spread after Viennese playboy Richard Lugner – who has made an international name for himself by inviting stars to attend the top event with him –claimed his 2010 guest would be "someone very fancy".
Austrian media believe the "Pokerface" singer will be the guest.
Lugner has not mentioned any names yet but he has said he does know Lady Gaga – who said after her sold-out concert at the city earlier this year: "I have never been inspired by a city as much as this one. I wrote poems and drew stage sets during my stay."
Lugner, 77 – who has been married four times – started to invite international celebrities to the ball in 1991 and previous guests have included Ivana Trump and Carmen Electra.
Earlier this week, Lugner revealed he had booked former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham to sign autographs and perform songs at his shopping centre on 10 December – as a sixteenth birthday present for his daughter.
