Various operas, symphonies and concerts for soloists written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be performed during Salzburg’s Mozart Week.
The series of concerts traditionally takes place around the birthday (27 January 1756) of the famous Salzburg-born composer. Next year’s events – organised by the International Mozarteum Foundation – will occur from 22 to 31 January 2010 at the city’s Mozarteum concert hall, its Festival Hall and at Mozart House.
Top conductors like Nikolaus Harnoncurt and orchestras like the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra have performed during Mozart Week – which took place in 1956 for the first time – in the past.
A full schedule for the upcoming festival is to be announced soon on www.mozarteum.at and www.salzburg.info
