New DNA Theory in Kampusch case

New DNA Theory in Kampusch case

New DNA in the Austrian kidnap victim girl Natascha Kampusch has been found.

The FBI together with experts from Germany are rechecking the Kampusch files - their findings which were due by end of 2012 are set to be published at the end of February.

A spokesperson for the Ministry in Vienna said: "We need more time for the evaluation. Quality is our priority."

A possible reason is that the authorities do not believe the theory that kidnapper Prikopil acted alone.

Files found in the property of the now deceased primary investigator Franz Krölls investigations which local newspaper Österreich claim to be in possession of claim to have evidence which suggests Prikopils friend Ernst Holzapfel may also have played a role and put new pressure on him.

Two details have raised particular attention - DNA evidence 1 - according to an expert  report from 23.10.2006 experts found DNA in Ernst Holzaepfels car from an unknown person.

"DNA material from a KKW KIA registered W-15492 is from an until now unidentified man."

After Kampusch's escape - Prikopil was with Holzaepfel in his vehicle.  But now it is speculated whether the two were alone, or whether someone else was also in the vehicle with them.

Krölls brother Karl believes that Holzapfel took the bag and says Holzapfel needs to explain himself.
