Pannobile 2010 best Austrian red wine

Pannobile 2012 has been given the title Austria's Best Red Wine at the Falstaff Red Wine Gala 2012.

The red wine from vinzer Hans Nittnaus from Gols was awarded the prize at the Red Wine Gala which was held at Vienna's Hofburg.

Hans Nittnaus said: "I am very positively surprised to get this award. It is great."

In total there were twelve winners in different categories. Eight of the winners were from the Burgenland region.

The Falstaff Red Wine Gala took place for the 33rd time and is one of the most prominent red wine awards ceremonies in the German speaking world.

1,500 different wine were tasted before the event and at the event itself 95 vinzers presented their wines to more than 1,800 guests.
