A group of animal lovers have set up a Facebook page to raise cash to compensate for the damage caused by a greedy bear that has been munching its way through beehives on the Swiss Austrian border, prompting calls that it be shot.
The bear named M13 has also attacked and eaten two sheep.
Now the Facebook page Emme Tredici (https://www.facebook.com/emme.tredici.52?fref=ts) has already collected 1000 fans who are organising parties and fundraising to compensate farmers for damage done by the bear.
The animal was also bizarrely involved in a police murder hunt when he pushed over a tree onto a road in front of a motorist. The man alarmed police, who turned up to give protection to fireman while they removed the tree – and they discovered the body of murdered man at Spiss in Tyrol.
