Family lose everything in fire

Officials at Fliess in the Oberinntal have started a collection for a family who lost everything after their house was destroyed in a recent blaze.

The fire was believed to have started in the garage and was followed shortly afterwards by an explosion that was so powerful it blasted the car out of the garage. All three members of the young family plus the grandmother were rescued – but were left homeless by the blaze.

Now local Mayor Hans-Peter Bock said that the local community would be trying to help the family but also set up a bank account for donations to be made.

He said: "I'm cautiously optimistic that together with the local community and the family and locals will be able to rebuild the property."

Fireman say there is still no explanation for the mystery blaze.

Donations can be made to the following bank account at any Austrian bank:

Raiba Oberland West BLZ 36.359
Kontonummer: 31.474.208
