Dutch Prince's avalanche companion to be questioned by police
The Austrian man who was the sole companion of Dutch Prince Johan Friso when they were swept away by an avalanche is to be questioned by authorities and faces potential charges from Austrian authorities investigating the accident, it has been reported.
The Austrian public prosecutor has confirmed they are to question the local hotel owner Florian Moosbrugger who has been a friend to the 43-year-old prince since they were children. Up until now the 42-year-old hotel owner from Lech has been in a state of shock and unable to answer questions from the police.
The two men have known each other since childhood and had skied together countless times. Moosburger was left unscathed after the avalanche, as he was wearing an avalanche airbag which keeps you on the surface of the snow in the case of such an event. The 42-year-old hotel owner called the emergency services and reportedly dug his friend out with his own hands.
Heinz Rusch from the police in Feldkirch said, "We have begun investigations into the companion. It is concerning unintentional grievous bodily harm in particularly dangerous circumstances." The authorities must now work out who of the two skiers first went down the slope and who caused the 30 by 50 metre avalanche in the first place.
"As well as this, an expert will also put together a report about the course of the events that led to the accident. The outcome will not be certain for another couple of weeks however," said Rusch.
The 5-year-old daughter of Dutch Prince Johan Friso paid her first visit to her father in hospital in Austria yesterday (Mon). The 43-year-old is currently lying unconscious, connected to a ventilator in intensive care in Innsbruck, after he was buried beneath the avalanche on Friday.
Together with their Uncle, Prince Alexander Willem, and his wife Maxima, the two daughters of Prince Johan Friso enjoyed a day on the slopes of Lech in Austria on Sunday. On Monday however Emma Luana and Joanna Zaria aged five and six were confronted with the reality of their ill father. The girls went with their grandmother Queen Beatrix to see their father yesterday, who is currently in a coma in hospital.
According to reports, his condition is "stable" but he is still in danger. Further rumours of the Prince’s possible fatal condition began to circulate once again on Monday afternoon. According to witnesses the family were seen hastily rushing from the hospital room. The employees at the Innsbruck hospital have remained quiet however.

It is difficult to check all the information that is given in several Austrian newspapers. The Dutch Government Informationservice only gives us infomation and news when there really is news. That service does not confirm any information about surgery, or braindamage. They will give a new report on the Prince's health as soon as necessary or if there are changes in that situation.So, I ask myself where does the newspaper get its information about Prince Friso?
