Fireman's ball-goers rescue OAPs
A 92-year-old man and his 71-year-old woman carer were rescued after their house caught fire opposite the hall where the annual fireman's ball was taking place in the village of Obervellach in Carinthia, Austria.
More than 100 firemen were instantly on the scene and helped the OAP and his carer to safety after the blaze started in a former bakery on the ground floor.
The blaze destroyed part of the roof and several rooms on the top floor before it was bought under control. The cause is unknown.
In total five fire engines also attended the blaze as well as the fireman at the annual ball.
A fire brigade spokesman said: "It was the best attended house blaze ever. It's good that it ended well with everyone brought to safety."
