Plane crash claims two
Two people were killed in a plane crash in Upper Austria this afternoon (Thurs).
Officials in Hirschbach im Mühlkreis in the province’s Freistadt district said both the pilot and the sole passenger of the single-engine aircraft died instantly when it went up in flames after careering into an embankment at a restaurant close to the local airport.
Police said investigations into whether human error or technical failure was behind the accident were ongoing.
