Convicted Nazi 'coaches football kids'

A convicted neo-Nazi is working as the coach of a football youth team, it has been claimed.

Viennese daily Heute reports today (Weds) that the 28-year-old was slapped a six-month suspended sentence for belittling Third Reich-era crimes six years ago.

The report has it that the man – only identified as Sascha – now works with a kids football team in a Lower Austrian town.

Some parents have reportedly expressed worries about the situation after finding out about the man's past, while the boss of the unnamed club said he wanted to give the man a chance. "We know Sascha’s story, but haven’t received any negative reports so far," he told the newspaper.

Heute claims the coach was a key member of far-right student fraternity "Germania" and that he took part in several Viennese neo-Nazi street marches.
