Freak weather conditions have claimed two lives in Lower Austria.
Strong rainfall, tornados and hail wrecked roads and homes were damaged in the province last night (Weds).
Local officials said today a 53-year-old woman died after falling into a stream while a 69-year-old man passed away after a fatal heart attack.
The woman presumably tried to save her belongings from being flushed away by the water masses as she fell into the Schlattenbach stream in Stickelberg. She was already dead when paramedics found her around 800 metres from her house.
Doctors in Kirchschlag meanwhile said a worried pensioner suffered a heart attack from stress as his house was about to be flooded by an overflowing river.
