Thugs arrested in Vienna

Vienna police announced today (Thurs) they had arrested two young men aged 23 and 18 for a series of crimes last year.

Police said the two had confessed that boredom had led them to puncture the tyres of 56 cars in Vienna-Brigittenau and set fire to a baby carriage at an asylum home.

Police put the cost of the punctured tyres at 8,000 Euros and that of the fire at 4,000 Euros. The older man also confessed to the theft of three mobile-phones in Vienna-Floridsdorf in 2008.

Police said a tip from the 20-year-old brother of the older man had led to their arrest. The brother had been arrested for assault and during questioning had identified photos of his brother as his accomplice.
