DNA leads to arrest 10 years after robbery
Police have arrested a man in Mattersburg for the robbery of a tobacco shop 10 years ago.
Burgenland cops said the 27-year-old crook, then 17, left his DNA on the T-shirt of the shop proprietor, then 45, which led them to him.
The young hood burst into the shop on 4 August 2000 and made off with the equivalent of 291 Euros in the old currency, the schilling. He wounded the shop owner in the process.
The man, who has denied the charges, now faces trial for armed robbery.
