Serb couple held young Romanian woman captive

A Serbian couple was guilty of holding a young Romanian woman captive against her will, an Innsbruck provincial court ruled yesterday (Mon).

The 28-year-old man and his 31-year-old wife, who have three children, held the Romanian captive and abused her repeatedly since summer 2007.

They claimed they had simply been kind to the young woman, who had just wanted "to see the world" and so had visited them while they were living in Flaurling in Tyrol’s Innsbruck-Land district. They added she had asked them to guard her passport for her.

The man said: "She was very immature for her age and was like a lost lamb in the world."

Judge Michael Pilgram, however, said: "Your statements have no credibility."

He fined the woman 720 Euros and sentenced the man to 10 months probation.

Both of them have criminal records.

wtf is this?!?! even if the girl was a romanian prostitute and involved in illegal activities herself, she was imprisoned against her will for 3 years! and the judge fined the kidnappers (who both have criminal records) with 720eu and 10 months probation?! can't believe this. this judge should get 10 years in prison for this decision.
