Footprints in the snow lead cops to arsonist
An arsonist who fled after setting a factory ablaze for the second time was caught when cops followed his footprints in the snow.
Police said today (Tues) they had arrested a 24-year-old man in Ansfelden in Upper Austria’s Linz-Land district who has now confessed to starting two fires at a paper factory in the area.
Police said footprints in snow enabled them to track the man down on Sunday night after he had set fire to the factory.
They added he had already been a suspect after a fire at the factory in December.
Police put the damage the fires caused at 35,000 Euros.
The man is in detention in Linz and faces charges of arson.
