Teen saves school pal

A quick-thinking teenager saved his pal’s life after he started choking on chewing gum.

The 13-year-old rushed to help when his 14-year-old German school pal began choking on the gum and then passed out on Saturday during a snow-ball fight at Kössen ski area in Tyrol’s Kufstein district.

Police said he had saved the boy’s life by using first aid he had learned in school to force the gum to dislodge in his pal’s throat.
