Partygoers burn the house down

A teenager and his pal were hospitalised after he woke up after a party to find his mum’s house in flames.

Police said the 18-year-old from Waidhofen an der Ybbs had held a party for nine pals on Saturday evening at his mother’s weekend residence in Lunz am See in Lower Austria’s Scheibbs district.

But he was woken up by a pal at 4am as flames ripped through the building.

They called firemen who put out the blaze, but police said the fire had caused 300,000 Euros of damage.

The 18-year-old and his pal were hospitalised for smoke inhalation and minor burns.

An investigation is underway into the cause of the fire.
