Cops confiscate 79 stolen notebooks

Tens of thousands of Euros of computers were seized by Burgenland police yesterday (Thurs).

Officers found 70 notebook computers and four monitors in the back of a truck driven by three Romanians aged 28, 32, and 38, when they pulled them over in a routine roadside check near the Nickelsdorf border crossing in Neusiedl am See yesterday (Thurs).

The trio claimed they bought the computers in Germany and produced a receipt, but police who checked with German colleagues they found out it was fake.

The driver of the truck had now been arrested and police chiefs said the goods, worth 46,500 Euros, had been destined for transport to Morocco.
