Romanian trio may face drug-smuggling charges

By Thomas Hochwarter

Three Romanians are facing charges for drug offences after a 30-year-old was arrested with 340 grams of cocaine, police in Wiener Neustadt said today (Mon).

Lower Austrian police said the suspect – who was arrested on Thursday when police were investigating a car theft – told them he was planning to smuggle drugs from Romania to Italy.

Officers added two other men thought to be accomplices were taken into custody on Friday pending further investigations.
