Police smash crime gang in Upper Austria

By Lisa Chapman

An international mafia gang behind more than 100 crimes has been smashed by police in Wels, Upper Austria.

Cops said the gang, which included 15 Austrians, four Serbs, three Russians, three Turks, two Macedonians, one Georgian and one Bosnian, ran a crime ring that netted them 16,000 Euros and caused damage of 10,000 Euros.

Police said today (Tues) a routine control at a checkpoint had led them to the gang.
