Thieves target Arbö centres in Lower Austria

By William Green

Crooks stole 15,000-Euros worth of equipment from car club Arbö’s testing centres in Lower Austria Sunday night, it has been revealed.

Police said today (Tues) the thieves had targeted centres in Amstetten, Altlengbach and Tulln, taking computers and electronic diagnostic devices.

Arbö’s chief for Lower Austria Franz Pfeiffer said today the value of the stolen items was around 15,000 Euros but added that ancillary damage had been high. He cited the damaged door of the Amstetten centre as an example, estimating it would cost 5,300 Euros to replace it.

He added that Arbö centres in Schwadorf, Lower Austria, and Güssing, Burgenland, had recently been broken into by crooks looking for workshop tools and equipment.
