A 78-year-old man who hacked a love rival’s penis off has been freed.
A court in Wiener Neustadt, Lower Austria, heard expert medical testimony stating the Turkish pensioner had not been in a sound mental state when he shot dead and then hacked off the penis of a 58-year-old man who he had suspected of trying to have an affair with his wife.
The court had also heard how the killer had first suspected his love rival more than 20 years ago, the newspaper Niederösterreichische Nachrichten reported yesterday (Mon).
The public prosecutor’s office in Wiener Neustadt, Lower Austria, withdrew its charges against the man saying that he was now in a care home for the elderly and posed no danger to the public.
