Brit family´s Salzburg holiday con

Police are investigating after a British family who booked a holiday at a villa turned up to find a crumbling ruin instead.

Officers in Salzburg reported at the weekend that the family arrived at the city last Thursday after booking a nine-day stay at a villa at the posh Mönchsberg, one of the city’s five mountains, called "Dr Herbert" on an online booking website.

But the address the family was provided with led them only to a decrepit building, police said.

The family, who paid more than 1,300 Euros for the villa, are now staying at a hotel.
