Post

Post says mass mail to be massed together.

Austria's post office is heading on collision course with mass mailing organisations after decision to only deliver their products twice a week.

In future anything posted that is not specifically addressed and has a print run of more than 30,000 will be bundled together by a new high-tech Collatoren machine before being delivered in Vienna, Salzburg and Graz.

These bundles will be delivered by the postman instead of as individual letters.

Austrian Post spokesman Michael Homola said they will not roll out the model all over straightaway but will trial it in specific districts and then gradually expand it to cover everywhere.

The new business model will not be applied to regular post or parcels.

The move has failed to impress the around 9,000 firms that regularly use the post to distribute mass mailings.
