Direktanlage.at looks back on year of growth

Austrian discount broker Direktanlage.at said it managed to grow on all areas "despite the crisis".

Ernst Huber, CEO of the banking house which belongs to the UniCredit Group, said today (Weds): "We saw growth on all levels despite the economic and financial crisis."

Huber said turnover before taxes climbed by 2.4 per cent year on year to 11.3 million Euros, while earnings rose by 3.4 per cent to 28.26 million Euros.

The firm chief also said 60,000 customers meant a seven per cent year on year increase.

The number of commercial paper transactions rose by 7.3 per cent to 1.138 million sales and purchases. "No other bank in Austria handles more transactions for their private customers than we do," Huber claimed.

Huber added he regarded the crisis as a chance. "We are well positioned and can continue improving our services," he said.
