Schönbrunn Palace bosses pledge renovation will not affect visits

Bosses at Vienna’s Schönbrunn Palace have said renovation work to be carried out this year will not affect visits to the top tourist attraction.

Schönbrunn Palace chiefs decided to have the building’s great gallery – traditionally a favourite of people visiting the building – renovated in the course of this year for 2.6 million Euros.

Managers announced a protective cover with "realistic" displays of the hall’s breathtaking décor would be hung up to keep the impact that repair work would have on people’s visits as low as possible.

Schönbrunn Palace chiefs recently announced 2.5 million tickets had been sold last year. That means the former Habsburg family residence has maintained its reputation as one of the Austrian capital’s main attractions.
