Styrian technology company Andritz has won a 100-million Euro contract in Chile, it was announced today (Mon).
Andritz will deliver special technology for a plant run by Chilean cellulose firm CMPC.
Earlier this month, Andritz reported a massive drop in profits. Its turnover during the first nine months of 2009 fell by 8.2 per cent year on year to 2.33 billion Euros while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) fell 37.1 per cent year on year to 102 million Euros.
Net profit fell 43.5 per cent year on year to 59.6 million Euros, firm officials said, adding they expected turnover for the year to be down 15 per cent year on year in 2009.
