Air Dolomiti to increase Rimini - Vienna flights

By Lisa Chapman

Lufthansa subsidiary Air Dolomiti is to lay on more round-trip flights between Rimini and Vienna, the carrier said today (Mon).

The airline, which uses ATR 500 aircraft on the route, said it would raise the number of flights from three to seven each week.

Jörg Eberhard, Air Dolomiti’s vice president for marketing, said: "We are very satisfied with the Rimini-Vienna flights. We want to meet growing demand in the Austrian market and we want to give people in the Rimini and San Marino areas the possibility to fly directly to Vienna."

"Rimini is not only an internationally-known resort but an important industrial area. Many businessmen can use the Vienna connection to fly on to Eastern European destinations," he added.

Air Dolomiti, which began operating 20 years ago, has been wholly owned by Lufthansa since 2003.

Based in Verona, its 19 aircraft make more than 700 flights weekly.
