Hidden A-Gender

Gender-bender model Andrej Pejic has been accused of a strip-off by fashion designers in his Balkans homeland - by asking for 4,000 GBP for a single catwalk show.

The Bosnian-born male model - who won worldwide fame on the runway wearing women's clothes - has been axed from a show in Belgrade, Serbia, after designer Verica Rakocevic said she couldn't afford him.

"He has disappointed me. Andrej wanted more than twice what he charges in the rest of the world just to come home," said Verica, who's staging the show to mark 30 years in the fashion industry.

"Not only that, he wanted me to get plane tickets for his mother to come from Australia too. I felt like I was being used to pay for a family holiday," she added.

The 22-year-old 6ft 2ins model shot to fame when designer Jean-Paul Gaultier used him to model women's clothes in Paris.
