Race Hate Football Thugs Play Hit the Jew

Right wing soccer thugs in Poland are facing racism charges after they staged a sick sideshow where fans played "Hit the Jew" with ninja throwing stars.

The fans - from LKS Lodz - paid 40p for three goes at hitting a model dressed up as a player from rival team, Widzew Lodz, which historically had a large following of Jewish supporters.

The game - a sideshow at an indoor football tournament - has drawn furious criticism after LKS Lodz fans posted a video of it on their website.

"Prosecutors are looking at this event to see if it breaches anti-racism laws," said a police spokesman.

The video - since withdrawn from the www.LKSfans.pl website - shows thugs roaring in approval as one fan hits the human target in the face with a ninja star.

Beside the sick sideshow is a sign in Polish reading: "2 Zloty - Three Throws at a Jew."

Local Town Hall officials - who rented the hall to the fans - say they've now banned them for life.

Mayor's spokesman Marcin Maslowski said: "This anti-Semitic and offensive behaviour means we will never again rent out the the hall for this type of event."

The scandal comes just hours after Spurs fans were attacked by anti-Semitic thugs giving Nazi salutes as they drank at a pub in Lyon, France.

Like Widzew Lodz, the English Premiership club has traditionally had a large Jewish following.
