Flat Broke

Houseproud home owner Michael Dalmonico spent 10,000 GBP doing up his new flat - only to be kicked out when he was told he'd moved into the wrong apartment.

Michael, 42, spent months restoring the property in Augsburg, Germany, before the owners admitted they'd given him the wrong set of keys.

"They said they wanted me to get out of the apartment I was and move into the other one.

"It seems that the estate agent got the keys and apartment numbers mixed up," he explained.

"But the other place is a real tip and they won't give me any money back for the work I've done on this one." added Michael.

And the owners - a local bank - have refused to do a straight swap on the properties - because they say the one Michael did up is now worth thousands more than the other one.

"It seems very unfair to me but I have no choice. All I can do is move into the other apartment.

"But it's a disaster will cost even more to restore than the other one," said Michael.
