Cat Gutted
One of the oldest pet cats in the world has been put down at the age of 33 by accident after a vet mistook him for a sick stray.
Moggie Miez Maz was picked up by a passer by who spotted him after he'd escaped from his home in an animal sanctuary in Tagerwilen, Switzerland.
Local vets thought the OAP puss was a poorly stray and put him to sleep with a lethal injection.
Heartbroken sanctuary manager Yvonne Butehorn said: "The cat was out in the yard when a passer-by who thought it was ill and took it to the vet. He did not know the cat and thought it was a stray who'd collapsed so he put it to sleep to put it out of its misery."
Vet Dr Inauen said: "I put it down in its best interest
